Silo Park Garden Project Kick-Off Event:
Silo Park located near Denver, CO has a small demonstration garden with gorgeous flowers and many vegetables. The produce harvested there is donated to local community charities. This summer, in collaboration with 42in42, participants of the Silo Park Garden Project will help prep soil, plant seeds, cultivate growth, maintain and harvest the garden. We eagerly seek individuals who wish to give of their time to this project! The first planting day was April 3rd and we've been going strong since then.

Don't miss the Grand 42in42 kick-off event on May 22nd at 9 a.m., which will complete the planting phase! Come join with friends, community and neighbors and help plant the seeds and watch the fruits of your labor grow. After everything is planted, we need all the willing hands we can get to help weed and check on the garden throughout the season! All the tools and resources are provided to us by the City of Greenwood Village. Look forward to seeing you! Check out our blog for more information and updates: http://siloparkgardenproject.blogspot.com/

Colors of Sound, Splashes of Culture:
42in42 participants are teaming with San Francisco samba dance group Sambaxé to raise money and provide volunteer support for the SF Carnaval Parade. The SF Carnaval serves as a powerful community builder, bringing people together from all walks of life under the umbrella of creativity, culture, music, dance and the celebration of life. Funds raised will provide opportunities to spread cultural awareness and teach community youth.

Please join us for the kick-off fundraising benefit on April 24th at Mojito in San Francisco (1337 Grant Avenue), meet the members of Sambaxé, and enjoy a world class samba celebration. The kick-off will be followed by additional benefit performances and volunteer opportunities to help with float and costume construction from April 24 until the parade on May 30.
